Booking conditions

Samlaan Cycling refered to as SLC accepts bookings subject to the following conditions:

Booking should be made prior to at least 45 days before the start date of the tour. The confirmation by the customer will be needed within 20 days prior to arrival (This only applies to tours that are booked from abroad lasting longer than 5 days).

All other tours can be booked via e-mail or on arrival in Oudomxay town.

• ½ day or 1 day tours one day before
• 2 day to 5 day tours at least two days in advance

Payment and financial confidence

After agreement on the price, the customer needs to transfer the deposit money to the bank account of SLC within 18 days prior to the start of the tour. The balance has to be paid on your arrival day (This only applies to tours that are booked from abroad lasting longer than 5 days).
SLC is a small company working under the registration license of Udomxai Travel Company that was issued in 2002 by Lao National Tourism Administration. We have been co-operating with a number of tour operators abroad. If you like to be confirmed before the transfer of your deposit you can write to either:

They are willing to clarify that your deposit will not be lost after transfer to SLC bank account.

Price guarantee

We guarantee that the price of your tour will not be surcharged after the agreement and transfer of your deposit to SLC bank account are completed or you have paid the tour directly to SLC in the office.

Cancellation by the customer

If it becomes necessary to cancel your tour you must notify us with the detail by email within 25 days after you had send us the booking form.
In case of cancellation fewer than 15 days before the start of the tour your deposit will be forfeited (This only applies to tours that are booked from abroad lasting longer than 5 days).

Cancellation by SLC

We will not cancel the tour unless:

• We are forced to do so by local circumstances such as: war, political problem or a dangerous decease spreading in the area of running the tour.
• We did not receive your deposit of the tour cost within the notified period.

Insurance

It is compulsory that you take out insurance on your own authority for the full duration of the tour. This must include personal injury, medical expense (death), lost luggage or other equipment. SLC does not cover these expences.

Responsibility

All participants take part in a tour at one's own risk and agree to the indemnity against liability of SLC against claim for loss or damage to the personal property, personal injury (or death), any injury arising from a participant´s own action. SLC can not be made liable for the result of those matters.

Passport, visa and vaccination

It is your responsibility to have a valid passport and a visa permit to enter Lao PDR. You should obtain the visa either in the embassy of Lao PDR in your country or on arrival, possible at every international entry point with a validity of 30 days.
Prophylactic vaccinations as may be required for the duration of the tour are within your own responsibility. Information about these matters will be given but without responsibility of SLC.

Alteration to itinerary

Your tour booking is subject to the understanding of that you will accept the itinerary as an outline.
It may change if we ascertained that areas of running the tour are not safe, unpredictable weather conditions, land slides or other disruptions occured. You must be prepared to be flexible and agree to the change where necessary.

Tour guide authority

While on tour you must agree to and abide by the authority of the tour leader or tour guide. If your behavior on the tour is deemed to be detrimental to the safety, comfort and enjoyment of others, you may be excluded from a part of or the entire tour. If happens so SLC will cease to have any responsibility for you and no refund will be payed out to you.

Complaints

If you have any complain about our service please bring it to the tour guide/tour leader´s attention as soon as possible or write to SLC office after the completion of tour. We will do our best to resolve the problem at once or take your opinion for future improvements of our services.
