1 day cycling and trekking to NamKat waterfall through the forest of the Provincial Protected Area

On this tour we will lead you to touch the pristine forest of Oudomxay Protected Area, which is rich of flora and fauna. Along the way we will learn how the local people earn their living on nature. It is also a great opportunity to get off the tourist track to relax in the nature of a deep forest.

Tour details

The tour starts from Samlaan Cycling office in Oudomxay town at 8.00 am. For 8 km we will cycle on a dirt road to Ban Faen through rice fields, which are surrounded by a green valley. At Ban Faen we have a short break to see the living style of the people in that village. Then we will continue on a dirt road with some short climbing before we get off the bike after 22 km to start trekking across the forest. You will be accompanied by birds and other insects singing very sweetly along the way. Occasionally we meet a group of monkeys. Arrival at the waterfall at 11.00 am.

After a picnic lunch and a swim in the fresh water in front of the waterfall, we will walk the same path back to the place where we left our bikes and start the ride back to town. Back in Oudomxay town at 4.30 pm.
