3 days cycling and boating from Oudomxay to LuangPrabang via Pakbeng or vice versa

This tour will give an opportunity to experience Lao traditional village life. Learn about their culture and hospitality within a big community. Be a witness of the beauty of the cliffs along the Mekong and visit the holy Buddha Cave PakOu.

Tour Detail

Day 1: The tour starts from Samlaan Cycling office at 6.30 am. From here we will cycle along the road through some small villages. There are some climbs at km 9 and km 20. Usually the route is down hill. On the way we visit villages of Tai Lue, Tai Dam and we will stop for lunch at Muang Beng.
After lunch we continue to cycle to Ban Faen village where we will take part in home stay. In Ban Faen we will take a short walk to the river to take a bath with local people on their way back home from the fields.

Day 2: After Lao traditional breakfast we will take a short walk around the village before we continue our trip through the very nice scenery of the villages and cornfields along the road. We finish the day stage at Pakbeng, a small town at the bank of the Mekong where most of the tourists stop over on their way from LuangPrabang to Thailand or vice- versa.

Day 3: After breakfast at a restaurant we will take a unforgettable boat journey down stream the Mekong River through the narrow valley with cliffs along and in the river. En route we will visit the holy Buddha Cave (PakOu Cave) at the mouth of the Ou River into the Mekong. Along the way you will see local people fishing and spinning gold. The boat journey lasts 7 hours arriving at the town of World heritage site LuangPrabang.
